October 2023 marks my 10th year (not counting the pandemic years) attending, and 6 years exhibiting, at DevLearn in Las Vegas. DevLearn is one of Evolve’s must-attend conferences and it was once again a whirlwind of a week—speaking, exhibiting, conference sessions, and walking the Expo floor.

Evolve Solutions Group and our exhibit staff Dawn Tedesco, Ken Patterson, and Mike Roy covered a lot of ground this year. Here are my highlights from another successful conference.

Articulate User Conference

Mike Roy and I had the pleasure of speaking at the Articulate User Conference. We presented about Streamlined Course Management – Complex Simulations and Gamification. See the full wrap-up here.

Did someone say Artificial Intelligence (AI)?

AI was the name of the game at DevLearn this year, with nearly every exhibitor talking about new AI authoring tools, AI-supported platforms—and so much more—to support content development and learning experience delivery. Looking forward to learning more about how AI will continue to shape how we work in the L&D industry.

Cool Tools, Platforms, and Technology

7-Taps – a micro-learning content authoring tool we have used at Evolve for our Drip Learning Campaigns.

Blinkist is a podcast-like take on audio books for those who don’t have time to read.

Animaker is a content authoring and development platform built for content developers of all skill levels, and brings together the best of animation and live action video.

Kahoot! – online quizzes, word clouds, assessments, and flashcards with AI enhancements.

Learning Management and Learning Experience Platforms we are excited to learn more about to support our Learning Technology Advisory clients:

  • itacit – Employee Experience Platform
  • cloud academy – Skills readiness
  • engageli – Online learning platform and digital environment for virtual learning
  • SparkLearn – Learning experience platform for mobile and deskless workers

Our Favorite Stops at the DevLearn Expo

Articulate is always one of the biggest and busiest booths at DevLearn and this year was no exception. In addition to the Articulate User Conference, they filled Expo stages talking about their latest updates. These updates included AI tools, new interaction types and customization options for Rise, plus improvements to Review to streamline the stakeholder and SME experience.

The elb (formerly eLearning Brothers) booth included an Igloo that showcased an Immersive Learning room that could be easily customized to an organization’s environment. I only got to observe from a distance, but am excited to learn more about it.
